7 Village Noodle House 七廊粿條湯

7 Village Noodle House trailed from a humble beginning. In 1956, Mr Lim was hawking the Koay Teow Th’ng (or “flat rice noodle soup”) door to door on tricycle (三轮车).

As the traditional tricycle hawing became a sunset business, Mr Lim started a small stall in front of his house. The stall was located at the district called “Seven Furlong” (七廊), hence, the name “Seven Furlong Koay Teow Th’ng” (七廊粿條湯).

In 1988, business expanded to a two-shoplot premise in Raja Uda.

It is becoming a trend that Penang hawker food slowly evolves into restaurant and café style. In September 13, 2007, the old-school “kopitiam” undergone a total revamp to a modern space with 144 open air seats and 54 air-conditioned seats café, now known as “7 Village Noodle House”.
