Yi Xiang Bak Kut Teh is a classy, brightly-lit spacious restaurant that serves a rather unusual Bak Kut Teh with Strings; tying the trotters and ribs with cotton strings, to expel the fats and prevent the meat from falling off. Interesting? The meat is first tied with cotton strings prior to being cooked, to expel the excessive fats and oils from the pork, as well as keeping them intact throughout the laborious process.
The Yi Xiang Bah Kut Teh soup is in a class of its own, different from those you normally have. It is thick and although there are more than 11 kinds of herbs and spices used in the cooking of the soup, it does not taste herbal at all, and it is neither too sweet or salty.
Yi Xiang Bak Kut Teh also offer additional ingredients such as sea cucumber 海参, beancurd 腐竹, tau fu pok 豆腐卜, mushroom 蘑菇, golden mushroom 金针菇, fried dough fritters 油炸条, and meat balls 猪肉丸.
